Dr. Karen Berkman was pleased to attend the University of Georgia Honor Cord Ceremony on April 28, 2026, where several past and current Berkman Scholars were in attendance. The Berkman Scholars work within the Student Veteran Resource Center under the direction of Dr. Jon Segars and provide outreach to all incoming student veterans at UGA. This innovative project between the Harold and Muriel Berkman Charitable Foundation and the SVRC at UGA impacts veteran retention rate as well as graduation rates that far exceed most universities across the US. President Morehead presented honor cords to the 2026 graduates. Dr. Berkman presented scholarships to support some very deserving students.
