It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Muriel Berkman, co-founder of the Harold and Muriel Berkman Charitable Foundation. Muriel devoted her life to family, friends and community. She has always demonstrated her generosity through giving to her favorite charities that improve the lives of children and families, specifically St. Jude Research Hospital and Make-A-Wish Foundation. Joining her husband, Dr. Harold Berkman, they established the Berkman Charitable Foundation that provides scholarships to combat veterans, and Marketing students and faculty across universities within the US. Muriel was loved by all. She was well-respected professionally as a marriage and family therapist during her career. She had a great sense of style, humor, and empathy, and she will be missed by everyone. The Berkman Charitable Foundation will carry on under the leadership of Dr. Karen Berkman, daughter of Harold and Muriel Berkman, and the Board of Directors. We will make our co-founders proud by carrying on the mission of this Foundation and leaving our indelible mark on students and faculty supported across the United States.
